The Victorian Multicultural Commission offers heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Victor Borg AM, who passed away recently.

Victor’s passing leaves heavy hearts in our community, but also shows us a strong legacy.

As one of the founding members of so many critical representative and advocacy organisations, including the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria, the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia, the Maltese Community Council of Victoria and 3ZZZ, we are grateful for his lifelong commitment to diversity.

Victor’s altruistic, uncompromising and principled advocacy contributed so much to the successful multiculturalism Victoria enjoys today.

He is remembered as one of our state’s great champions for the rights of migrants and refugees.

Vale Victor.
