So we are at Grazeland today, and we’ve brought together some stars, some athletes, some changemakers.

Who have all come together to launch the Cultural Diversity Week for 2025.

The importance of diversity is about inclusion, about celebration and joy. And is a necessity to be Australian.

I think a very simple way for people to connect with people from different backgrounds is, you know, coming to events like this.

I think, exploring other cultures, exploring other people. I think it's so important to understand one another.

What do I love most about life in multicultural Victoria? Well, there's so much.

We get to taste all different types of foods, smell all yummy flavours. There's a bit of culture in every little pocket of Melbourne, and I think that's so beautiful.

What I love most about life in multicultural Victoria is just the opportunities we have to mix and mingle with so many people from different cultures.

So moving to Melbourne as a 22-year-old, I took every opportunity to go to every single event there was, that promoted multiculturalism.

What I love about life in multicultural Victoria is I'm always learning new things.

So thank you multicultural Victoria.

So the simplest way that I've found that people can connect with people from other backgrounds.

In my life, the way it was changed was by connecting through music. Not only through dance, but also through actually learning each other's songs from different languages, different cultures.

Music connects people in a way that you could never imagine. So give it a try.

So this year’s theme for Cultural Diversity Week is “embrace the journey, shape our future”.

And for me, what this means is to kind of, go along with what's happening, but also not be afraid.

So not be afraid of change. To embrace what's happening around us, because we can only become better people for multiculturalism.

And shaping our future is we're putting in good cement pillars, for our children and our children's children to be culturally safe in this community.
