Coronavirus (COVID-19): Family and domestic violence support

You are not alone – support is available if you or someone you know is at risk of family violence.

Family violence support services

You are allowed to leave your home if you are escaping or are at risk of harm from family violence under stage 3 or stage 4 restrictions during coronavirus (COVID-19).

You will not be fined if you do and support is available.

Family violence frontline services, including crisis accommodation, continue to operate to support women, children and families during the coronavirus emergency.

There are options for accessing safe housing if you need to leave a violent situation or you are not safe in your home.

If you need assistance, there are specialist family violence services that are available to help, including:

Victoria Police has launched a suite of videos in multiple languages(opens in a new window) to encourage people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities to seek help if they are experiencing family violence.
